I know this isn't a engine

I know this isn't a engine question but I'm just wondering if it would be ok to use galzanized bolts for the piece of wood that goes inside my transom. There alot cheaper than stainless and I won't be on the water but a hand full of times a summer. It's an old 14 ft john boat with a 9.9hp motor. thanks

"You could but I wouldn't

"You could but I wouldn't do it, the ends can rust away and you'll never know until its too late. On boats, even if you don't use them a lot, cheap is often not the best option.....why do you think we're all so poor? :)"

"If cost is an issue check out

"If cost is an issue check out a local recycling center, some companys sell their good new stainless bolts when a project is over. That is where I found mine - less than 1/2 cost. Oh and as for the poor comment.....BOAT.....Break Out Another Thousand for repairs!"
