Question: Most outboard manufa

Question: Most outboard manufacturers specify 87 octane fuel. I have heard that since 93 is more stable when hot it could result in more carbon build-up in the combustion chamber.

What is everyones take or experience in this matter?
You would think more octane more power.

I was planning on using Shell 89.

What do you guys think?
