" The problem I am having is that the engine is not getting enough fuel when running. My mechanic just replaced the fuel pumps on the engine, rebuilt all 3 carbuerators, replaced bulb and line. Before starting the motor I can prime the bulb and as I run the engine the bulb squeezes flat and I can not get it to fill up with fuel again. I ccan idle it and it will stay running but if i punch the throttle into forward it stalls due to fuel starvation. Since my mechanic cant figure it out I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks "

"Matt.... The fuel bulb is forced flat when there is a restriction between the engine and the fuel supply. Usually this is caused by a sticking anti siphon valve which will be located where the rubber fuel hose attaches to the top of your built in tank. This anti siphon valve will be aluminum, about 2" long, and the inner works will consist of a check valve ball, a spring, and a ball seat. Remove the valve, knock out the inner parts which converts it to a straight through fitting, then re-install it. If this anti siphon valve does not exist, check the fuel line thoroughly all the way from the engine to the fuel tank pickup supply tube.
