I recently aquired a 1987 Bayliner Capri 1950 Cuddy. it is in Excellent shape. It has the Volvo with the 275 lower. I know that it was winterized at the end of the season. My question is ....Is there a fuel shut off valve? I cant locate one at first glance.....the motor turns over but just wont start. sounds like it's out of gas...but there is plenty The engine is the AQ131A with 275 outdrive

Not in the engine. You will have to trace the fuel line between the fuel pump and the fuel tank. You could also have a stuck anti-syphon valve in the fuel tank.

I had similar problem and for me it was bad points one time. Another time it turned out that I had bad connections at the battery terminals. Make sure they are clean.

In fact, I suggest that this would be the perfect time to throw the condenser and the points in the garbage and install a Pertronix or Hot Spark electronic ignition kit. One of the best and cheapest upgrades you could ever make in your engine (have I ever said that before in this forum?) ;)
