Fuel pump on a 18602

I am mounting a square fuel pump to this model but the mounting holes in the bypass cover are at 9.00 and 6.00. If I mount it like this the up arrow also points one of these directions. Should I disassemble the pump and turn the body,or should I mount it through the other set of holes and get some 10/24 nuts for the back of the pump? Thanks-B

Not a good idea to modify the pump. If you're going to use that pump, the exchange of mounting holes and the nut scenario would probably be the best bet.

Got er done.I drilled out the threads because I couldn't get the 10/24s to thread through the pump body and the bypass cover uniformly.Tanked it for an hour,Lake tomorrow.

Update: pump mod good on the lake.
