Fuel Pump on 454XL

I am having to replace the electric fuel pump on my Crusader 454xl. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and it is easy to get to so I thought I try and replace it myself. That being said, it is kind of a tote to get to the boat and I want to make sure I have everything I need. Any advice would be appreciated. I have my tool kit, the Crusader replacement kit, teflon tape, and a bunch of rags to catch fuel as it comes out of the lines. Any thing that I am missing or that you would advise me bringing along?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott, not familiar with your setup, nor what is in your "replacement kit". But with electric fuel pump installations, you wll usually need Locktite Thread Sealer and "O" rings. These might be in your kit

It's my understanding that teflon tape should not be used in fuel system connections. I hope someone with more experience will verify that.

BINGO!! use Loctite PST or something similar...see the service manual if you have any doubts...to add to your list, some dielectric grease for the electrical plug and you should be set.

Thanks for the replies guys. Attached is what came in my kit and also a diagram out of the parts manual. If I understand correctly, I use the Loctite on any threaded items. The O-rings I assume go over the threaded shafts as well, correct?

Thanks again for the help!
