I've been running a couple

I've been running a couple of carter style mechanical fuel pumps. They are at 12 years and about 8000 gallons of fuel pumped each. There is no gas in the site tube. Do you guys PM these or run until failure?

"I runn mine til failure or major overhaul, whichever comes first. Over the years, had one fail (relatively young) & 4 go til engine pulled or sold. Can't say the same about those two cycles...

I replaced one as preventive m

I replaced one as preventive maintenace after 1200 hrs and for laughs took the old one apart. It looked new inside. the diaphragm had no deterioration at all. Rather amazing considering mine was 23 years old!
