Fuel Pump for 93 OMC Cobra 30 L

"I have a 1993 Chris Craft Concept 185 with a 3.0L OMC Cobra, looking for a fuel pump. SELOC recommends Sierra Part #18-7256, (Flange ID 6790), however I've tried that and it is not the correct pump for my engine.

Any suggestions?"

Dose the new pump look like the old one? Did you install it right? I think you have to make sure it went under the cam not over top. It could be the anti syphone valve on the top of the fuel tank. It could be that the gas line needs to be replaced. Take a look at these and hope that helps.

Have you tried the original OMC pn which is 986417 up sub up pn 3853970 from a dealer or even this site or Doug Russell?

"Like Bob said, 3853970 is the new number for 986417. Same pump. I did some quick searches on a few suppliers I use and as you said, nobody has it. MarineEngine lists it but shows no stock. I would call them and see what they say. May be time to go electric........."
