I just bought a 1988 dixie and the motor runs if you put fuel in the carb. I got a fuel pump with it but not on it. How does it go on and does anyone know were I can get pics of it. Does the bowl go on top or bottom. I bought the repair disc and the pics in it are black and white and not very detailed.

"Look at the site below. There are two fuel pump designs. Find the one that matches yours. When installing the pump, disconnect the coil wire to the distributor. Now insert your finger in the block hole and push on the pump rod while someone bumps the starter until the rod slides in easy; that means it is off the cam lobe.

Your pump lever may run directly off the cam lobe. If the pump seems like it won't fit tight to the block go ahead and bump the starter a few inches to turn the cam lobe. Don't force the bolts to pull the pump against the block.

you said you have the old style pump in your 2nd post. The hole is not symmetrical as Guy is saying. It's triangular...You couldn't put it on upside down if you tried.

I have the pump put on. I have

I have the pump put on. I have 3 lines coming off of the pump. One goes to the tank. Where do the other 2 go on the carb. I have a filter which I assume is were the gas goes. LOL. The other I just connects to the carb. I assume that is a vacuum line. How do I know which one it is on the pump. It is not labled
