fuel Problems

Hi guys,I have a Johnson 185 1985 model.I have to push and hold primer for engine to pick up.I have cleaned carbs,rebuilt fuel pumps,and have replaced fuel pumps with new pumps.New fuel filter all new fuel lines,I just cant get it to get enoug fuel to the engine without using the primer.Mabe im over looking somthing?Spark is good 7/16 of an inch,Any and all suggestions welcome.

If the engine picks back up while pushing the primer means that the carbs are not delivering enough fuel. Remove the carbs and purchase rebuild kits. If the gaskets are not sealing correctly it will cause this problem. Also check the emulsion tubes for cracks.

Does it get to around 1800 rpm and and will not accelerate any more until you hit the primer key? Sometimes it will accelerate and sometimes it won't?
