fuel problems

not a steady ideling 700 to 1000 up and down,after throddeling abit it stays high does not rev back down,also 3 to 4 second delay at full throttle before it takes off top end runs great,rebuilt carbs and fuel pump. this also happens with a portable tank of gas

sounds to me like it is mabe getting air in system.We need info!!What kind of engine is it?what year?what size engine?

1986 175hp merc,type b carbs,removed oil injection,new plugs and wires,all hoses checked or replaced all vac lines ok

Check your timing or have somone check it for you.I have 1985 johnson 185,it hisitated one time like that and timing was out.
