" This is the same problem I posted about last week. Took my boat to the lake and really ran it through the paces.......WOT for 10min. then slowed down to about 3400 rpms for a few min. then back up to WOT for 5-10 min. all together ran the boat for about 1 hour and the motor is very strong. Went back to loading dock at idle speed motor doing great, take boat out of water.

Return to lake about 1 1/2 hours later, put boat in water start engine runs great, idle out of no wake area kick it up to about 1600 rpms for about 2 min. then it happens motor will hardly run. I reduce rpms to about 800 and the motor is running but not great then dies. I pump the primer blub restart engine after several tries, motor still will hardly run. Re-check the prime blub and it is very hard. Motor will hardly run,,,I idle in to dock and leave very dejected as this is a repeat of last week.

What am I missing, please help, I will appreciate any and all responses.

Thank You

"Dogman... One of your statements is "I pump the primer blub restart engine after several tries, motor still will hardly run. Re-check the prime blub and it is very hard". That is not the normal operation of the fuel primer bulb.

Those fuel primer bulbs usually end up laying pretty well horizontal, and in that position, when the engine is running, the fuel finds its own level.... meaning that the primer bulb would be only half full (I have no idea why, that's just the way they work). If the bulb was still hard in that horizontal position, I would suspect that the outlet valve in that bulb has come apart, the inner portion fell out, then reversed itself and has been drawn back into the outlet valve shell... effectively shutting off the fuel flow (it happens).

The only way the primer bulb could stay completely full would be if it was in a perfectly vertical position with the outlet valve pointed staraight up.
