fuel mix

That was a standard ratio on some models a few years ago but stick w/50:1 using TCW-3 2 cycle outboard engine oil.

Thanks for the info...that seems to be what other people are saying so I'll go 50/1. Another question: where can I get parts etc. Mainly I'm interested in a tether and safetykill switch to attach to my clothing.

Its 50 to 1, I have 4 of these critters, 3 for spares. Now they are a noisy motor say compared to a Johnson 70 but I would prefer the mariner/Yamaha, I have found in the years to have a Taco, a temperature gauge and a volts gauge. Speedo etc are on most depth sounders and my GPS has both temp and speed. I have a 1980 swift craft glass half cabin nice and beamy so when you have a couple of props , I have 5 I have settled on the S/Hand Solas 11 .4 inch x 12 pitch S/S which I won on eBay for $65.00 bit of polish and hit or two with a hammer (a new iPhone 4) should have put it in my pocket. I had the ally prop on 13 pitch and 10.38 and running about 4,800 two up she would hit 23 ~ 24 knots so the S/S should get her out of the hole a lot faster and sit on roughly 27 ~ 28 @ 4,800 RPM that's their sweat spot. I did a comp test the other day and the top was 153 and the bottom was 151 I had some dude say brand new they only had 130 to 135 and he had been a mechanic for 20 years yeah sure. Now for parts they are starting to before rare, I live in Queensland Australia and every now and then one pops up for anything from $200 to $600 and the other day one went for $ 800 with no power titl/trim motorbut I'm not allowed any more as I have only used my boat 4 times in three years due to 10 spinal surgeries 2 of which I had last month for a spinal cord stimulator implant. If you need a answer to a question here is my email [email protected] or you can post it on the board. Also dont let anyone tell you they are too old and parts are too hard to buy, that's crap I just bought a head gasket set for mine for $ 65.00. A safety kill switch is a piece of cake most marine dealers have generic ones and they are not much.

Anyway enjoy
