Also…Yes. So that you can start with a known quantity.
Fill the tank. Run the motors for X period of time.
See how much fuel the gauge says you used. Refill the tank and see if the amount added is the same as the gauge reported as having been used.
If not, calibrate the gauge so that reported fuel used equals the actual fuel used.
