i know ive seen this answer on

i know ive seen this answer on here before but cant seem to locate it. the fuel dump line on the pump to the carb overflow line. mine has dried and has become to short what my ? is my line is clear is this neccesary. and if not what would be sufficant im pretty sure that any fuel rated hose would work but will feel better with input from the pro's steve

you want a clear hose as you need to be able to check it from time to time to make sure there isn't any fluid (fuel) in it as this means the fuel pump diaphram has failed and needs to be replaced else you risk serious engine damage or worse.

"no need to get marine hose for that line, you can get from any motorcycle shop, small engine shop, even can temporarily use hose from a hardware store(lowes, home depot etc.. )."

"ha was able to obtain a piece of clear surgical tubeing from a well known mech and good friend who told me it will withstand gas. so as i write its soaking in gas and ill let it dry tommorow and see. he found it funny when i said i need it for fuel not blood

Update surgical tubeing will infact take some gas abuse BUT!!!! Distorts the clear to foggy. but did find some at napa. come to find out today that napa can order if they dont stock many parts for mercruiser

Ayuh,... Napa carries the complete Sierra line of aftermaket marine parts...

You do know that IF that line has gas in it,.. You have a Problem,..?? Right,..??
It's gotta be See-thru so you'll know if the fuelpump Fails..."

bondo sure do thats why i tested the line before install and with the problems ive read on here i dont want a fuel pump problem thanks steve
