Fuel line connector won't fit

Newish newbie to outboard motors. Bought 1982 Evinrude 15 (E15RCNC) at auction. Went to connect a fuel line and tank. Connector won't fit - slightly too large. (See photo) What's up?

In the old days it was simple.----Mercury / OMC and Chrysler had distict connecters.-----Now many of them look identical on the shelf.----Hurry to a boat shop and get the correct one.

Yamaha connectors look like Evinrude, but have slightly larger holes. As stated, buy an OEM Evinrude
