Motor will start & run well cold. When it warms up 5-7 minutes cannot throttle up with out it sputtering and dying unless you throttle down in time. Will run ok at slow speeds 6mph. The carb was rebuilt late last season and it ran fine the first time out this year. Checked for any fuel line breaks. Any suggestions? Thanks

Open all 3 slow speed idle mix needles 1/8 turn at a time.---That may help.

Would a loose wire to the stator cause the same issues as if the carb was the issue. Last night I found a loose wire from the stator to the center plug. When started on muffs idled great. Do you think that was possibly the cause?

If it was a sparkplug wire yes.-----Those plug wires ( when motor was new ) were screwed into the distributor cap , so they could not come loose !

I've fixed a few outboards with this exact issue it's always a worn out fuel pump diaphragm. Buy a diaphragm kit online, very easy to replace yourself and save a lot of money. if symptoms are still there replace the fuel primer bulb and the fuel line to engine connector.
