"I just replaced a leakey fuel

"I just replaced a leakey fuel primer solenoid. I was able to start the engine and it seemed to run fine for just a few moments then cut off. Then it would only turn over for a few seconds before shutting off again. I did notice that I had to keep pumping the fuel ball as it would not stay firm. Each time I pumped the fuel ball, the motor seemed to run a little longer than if I did not pump it at all. I have checked the fuel filter (in line) and water/fuel seperator and they both looked ok. Any suggestions?"

sounds like you have an air leak somewhere around the new valve......if it wasnt doing this before you fixed the leak.

otherwise pumping the primer bulb to keep it running indicates a faulty fuel pump.

"Unfortunately it was doing it

"Unfortunately it was doing it before, and my first stop was the fuel primer as I noticed fuel leaking from the valve area. Figured that would be the issue. Your suggestion would be looking at the fuel pump next? Is there a way to test it? Sorry if I am asking something that has already been covered on here."

"well if you have to pump the primer i would say your fuel pump diaphram is bad, and ive heard sometimes the rebuild can be tricky what year/model are we talking..........most of the time people on here will just tell you to replace the whole thing, if your like me i would try the rebuild first."

"i would do away with the vro pump and premix my gas.........it would be cheaper in the long run and safer for your engine.

ive lost my link thing to the directions on how this works, ill keep looking but hopefully somebody can tell you the link or how to do it.

ive had computer problems and am having to regain all my info for the 3rd time."
