I have an old merc 6 gal tank

I have an old merc 6 gal tank that has a dark and unreadable gauge lens. has any one a cure for that?

Is it a metal tank or plastic

Is it a metal tank or plastic one? You can buy a new gauge.You can try and clean the lens also.

it is an old merc metal tank.

it is an old merc metal tank. lens is beyond cleaning from my point of view. guess I could take it over to the merc dealer. john

I have 2 and they are clouded over but the inside is rust free. you may have to order 1.

"just came from the local merc dealer, small dealer been in business for a long time. the button shaped lens is now a disk of clear plastic. sure is nice to be able to get parts. I had no idea that I could get a replacement for a 35 year old tank. came with a gasket, $4.50 tax and tip and I a happy as heck. John"

"I am learning when you have real old merc equipment you want to go to an old dealer. I would not have had a clue to where to look to find a part number but the lady there did. between this forum and my dealer I can use my boat any time I want. thanks, john"
