"want to replace my fuel filter on my 1993 4.3. It does not have a water separator filter, just the cylinder canister type similar to what you would find on an auto application. I've heard they don't make them anymore. Can I use one intended for auto or is there something unique about the filter for marine applications. someone else also recommended installing a water separating filter instead. Are those a universal type of filter or do I need one for my specific motor? Any help greatly appreciated."
