"Guys, I just installed a new fuel filter on my motor, and when I pump the fuel primer bulb it will fill up, then I will start the motor without any issues, but the filter begins to empty, the engine keeps running w/o issues at idle but the filter appears empty, other than a little fuel running at the bottom of the filter as it sits horizontally. when the filter empties out where is the void coming from by void meaning the air, I understand air in the system but after 15 mins of running it should be bleeded out right???"

"this is the nature of a large

"this is the nature of a larger filter,..as long as the engine is running ok..u will see that...it wont stay absolutely full,...bubbles in the fuel, and staying full would worry me more.as the carb filled up,as u run,it only then, takes a small amount to keep it full."

"The filter it is definitely l

"The filter it is definitely larger than usual, but it was the only 3/8 inlet/outlet filter that I could find locally, but it seems odd… I figure fuel should be replenished as it moves from the filter and is pumped thru the pump and into the carbs, as far as bubbles in the fuel... man I can only see a small stream of fuel going thru the filter, as in plain sight appears empty, now why would a full filter worry you???"

How about tilting the filter s

How about tilting the filter so that the outlet is higher than the inlet.

the only one i run is the fuel

the only one i run is the fuel/water separator.....if you have one of these thats all you should need.

but like said above it wont stay full....if it were between the pump and the carbs i would expect it to stay full....

HELLO

YOU HAVE A BASS

HELLO

YOU HAVE A BASS BOAT ABOUT THE YEAR I HAVE I JUST GOT A 87 WINNER BASS BOAT QESTION DO YOU STILL HAVE THIS BOAT ALSO IS IT COST A LOT TO KEEP IT UP AND ALSO IS THIS THE SAME MOTOR THAT CAME WITH THE BOAT.

"if you are referring to mien

"if you are referring to mien i just bought this one..........i forgot to set the date on my camera after i changed the batteries.

and no its not the original motor the motor was on my other bass boat (rotten transom) and the trailer is different now also..........i used the one from myu venture bass boat to get it home and run some tests for the set-up........its now on a different trailer, the rollers werent adjustable (only the front one) and the bow stop was too high so i changed trailers.

the up keep is minimal especially if you use it all year like i do.......of course the winterizing is probably cheaper than buying gas all year.

lu oil change, water pump, de-carb, fuel filter, and new plugs are what i do annually ...........if you use fuel treatment you shouldnt have any fuel or carb issues."

sorry i forgot to say it will

sorry i forgot to say it will cost you around $100 or so for this annual stuff if you do it yourself .......depending on what brands you buy.

i dont usually do all mine at once.....i try but i usually do the maintenance as i get the extra money...so my figure could be a little off.

and of course this doesnt count fuel and the occasional battery.....and i didnt include grease....i grease mine about once a month -- trailer too.
