"Hi All

I am new to this board and I have a problem I just can't seem to figure out.

I have a 1986, 3 cylinder, 60hp Merc. The top cylinder starves for fuel. I keep a spray bottle of fuel mixture around and when this happens I spray some fuel in the throat of that carb and it will run for week with no problem. Then all of a sudden it happens all over again. Can't seem to figure out the cause and no one else I know has ever had this type of problem.

Any Ideas?????

Check for a clog in the little

Check for a clog in the little tiny piece of fuel line (or the fitting on the carb itself).

The fuel line comes from the pump up to the top carb and goes into a T fitting - it feeds the #1 carb from a little stub then goes on to feed 2 and 3 - so I would first suspect a "cootie" going into your top carb or maybe a slightly collapsed line...

Thanks for the quick response. I will try that in the morning. sounds like a likely culprit.
