Fuel Contamination / source?

As some of you know I recently rebuilt my 18 hp Evinrude and I had a couple carb issues I had to remedy. Those resolved I wanted to reroute the line from the fuel pump to the carb. In doing so I noticed the fuel was a dark yellow like strong urine! Fuel entering the line is a bluish-green. This is a new fuel pump, new fuel supply lines and the carb has been rebuilt. The only source of possible contamination of the fuel would be the fuel pump. I suspect I got a bad one? Although the motor was running good I was occasionally checking the tank fuel pressure bulb giving it a squeeze from time to time while it ran so I'm not sure how sufficiently the pump working. These are pic's of the fuel from the tank compared to the fuel drained from the line at the carburetor. It seems to get darker yellow the longer it sits.
