Fuel consumption 34 silverton 270 crusaders

I'm looking for approx. numbers for 1987 Silverton Conv. w/ 270 Crusaders. What is a good cruise RPM, and hourly consumption? Thanks in advance, seawolfguy.
 
Search the forum, seriously. too many posts on this topic.

You'll find each hull/engine pair will vary, based mostly on bottom condition and how much load the hull is carrying. A floScan is an excellent investment and will allow you to optimize what you have. Once dialed in, continued use of it will let you know when some changes and needs attention. they aren't cheap but are well worth their cost.
 
GPH ????;) Seriously, to clarify, I don't use my boat to make a living, it is purely for pleasure, so bear with me :eek:

Years ago when I was driving a "little boat" used strickly for water-skiing the kids and gas was cheap, GPH was not an issue.

The kids all left so the Admiral and I decided to get into the "big boat" league.

I was out looking at boats and while browsing with a broker I saw a "dream boat" leave the marina so I asked the broker..."How much gas would that thing burn an hour?"

I have never forgotten his answer..."If you have to ask...you can't afford that boat".

Again to clarify......I have no idea what I get as far as mileage, GPH, and in my opinion I now have a "big" boat, (42ft), and when I fill up, I just hand over the plastic..

Don't see too many Brinks trucks following a hearse:p

My attitude, too, Don. Got maybe 10 more years of boating in me and I'm not gonna become a slip puke!

I think you may be missing an important point. It is our patriotic duty to use up as much gas as we can before the Chinese get it. Tim

Up here in "The Great White North", your price per US Gallon would be $4.80...our gas is running $1.269/litre
