fuel canister function

Can someone shed some light on what the fuel canisters function is on my 2003 Bf20.

I'm looking for the same answer to that question.Are you having problems from a recall on your outboard.are you having problems at idle, surging rpm, or like its loading up.Because thats whats happing to mine. Can someone please help
