freeze out plugs

Welcome aboard !

You mean the casting plugs. Got me i would install new ones and run the motor. If you don;t have water in the oil and water pouring out a crack then your ok.

By the way what motor is this and what plugs popped out.

are we talking frost plugs?steel or brass?are they intact,or damaged?where did you find them?have you had a severe frost lately? If theyve been forced out of the block because of expansion due to frozen water, theyve done their job properly.thats what they are designed to do

Frost plugs = freeze plugs

Core plugs = casting plugs.

I still say you might have gotten lucky and no cracks, we still don't know what motor.
We don;t know how you winterized the motor.

Correction.

They are not "freeze out plugs" Has Cheifalen stated, they are core plugs. They are not there to help in case the block freezes. They are there only because that is where they held the mold when the engine block was cast. They got the name "freeze plug" because the popped out when the block froze due to no Anti freeze.
