Found the serial number

Ok, did some searching and finally found the serial number plate... It had been painted over in a big way.
So, I promptly jotted the numbers down and tried to look them up on this forum's serial # reference, as well as others... Not seeing anything that resembles my numbers at all... ????

The numbers that (I think) are on the plate are:

981105
W113901

Is there another reference site I can check?

Particulars:
1974 21' Reinell TriHull
1973 Mercruiser 120 (Engine was obviously replaced at some point)
Used to have the through-the-transom steering but, no longer. (Transom hole was patched).

Based on all that, I have no clue if the sterndrive is original or not... I'm pretty sure it's Electric shift but was hoping these numbers would help shed some light on what is there...

Any thoughts?

I too had a terrible time trying to identify my stern drive, and it ended up being a long shaft 1973 or 4 and was original for my 1974 Seasport 16.

Mine is Electric Shift, and is behind a 225 Cu In. 155 HP Buick V6

My numbers are very similar to yours, being Model Number 979934 and Serial Number 1139.
