Found leak carb

"i found the smell/leak its in the carb ,when you punp the gas its squirts, but than all it does is drip out of those too squirting body and drips and drips ,so whats the fix also i did not find a fuel shut off valve,any where on the fuel line . thanks john //3.0 lx mercur"

"Did you replace the fuel filter and if so,you must always prefill it with fuel before you install it or it will cause the problem you described if you have an electric fuel pump supplying the caburetor."
