fouled spark plugs

1992 Evinrude 60 fouling spark plugs it's been sitting for a few years I cleaned the gas tank and put fresh gas with 50-1 oil. I cranked it over with the plugs out and it looked like it was spraying gas out the plug holes. I put the spark plugs back in it and cranked it over with the fuel line off and it started and ran until it ran out of gas. What do I do to correct this problem?

surly there is something i can do to keep it from fouling the plugs and it will only start after i dissconnect the fuel line going to the motor. i crank on it for a few seconds long enough for it to clear out the excess gas from it and it fires up and runs until it is out of gas. with the fuel line connected it does not hit like it wants to start at all.

have you pulled the carburetors apart and thoroughly cleaned them? You likely have one or more fuel float/needle gummed up and sticking open allowing excess fuel to flow. Any 2-stroke that has sat "for a few years" should have the carbs cleaned and rebuilt before running.

no pictures just wet spark plugs . thanks for responding GOLD MEDAL CONTRIBUTOR. ADVANCED CONTRIBUTOR yes I know you are right I just needed to hear someone with experience tell me what I already thought it might be. This is my first time working on a boat motor and at 69 I am dealing with the learning curve. AGAIN thanks for responding and giving me a moment out of your day.
