Force outboard tuneup/lower unit fluid question

I am completely new to working on boats but just got a boat with a 90 horsepower Force motor for super cheap. It currently starts with starter fluid and then runs well after that. I am trying to do A few basic tune-up things.

First, I am planning on replacing the lower unit oil but I'm not sure what type to get. Is there any specific type that I should get for this motor?

Other than that, I am planning on replacing spark plugs and cleaning the carburetors. Anything else I should be sure to do?

Always include the year, model# and serial# when asking questions.
Shouldn't need starting fluid to start the motor. Prolonged use of SF can damage the motor.
SF is a solvent and can clean the protective oil from the walls of the cylinder and bearings.
Find the procedures for starting: using a choke or primer should negate the need for SF.
Go to any boat store or even Walmart should have the gear oil 90w you need.

Changing gear oil: on the bottom front of the lower unit is a slotted screw. DO NOT REMOVE THIS SCREW!!!!!
The drain plug is on the bottom of the nosecone. If you remove that screw, the shift linkage will come undone and the lower unit will need to be dismantled to put the screw back in. DON'T REMOVE IT!!!!

Carbs: if it runs it might not need the cleaning??

I'd consider changing the water pump impeller, who knows how old it is??

The first step is a compression test to determine health of the motor.----Post actual values here.-----Like going to a doctor.----Blood pressure test is the first thing they usually do !!!!
 
When it does that, first thing is to test the battery.
Battery ok? then remove the plugs and do a compression test.
Comp OK? then rebuild the starter, check the battery connections and the cables(swelled cable = bad cable).
