Force 90 stalling

Hi, I'm looking at buying my first boat. It is a 1990 Bayliner Capri 1800 with a Force 90. The current owner says the boat starts and runs, but when you go to throttle up, it wants to stall. He also said that he recently installed a new impeller and housing. Does this sound like an easy fix, or should I move on to look at other boats for my first. Thanks.

Welcme, where you located? You might be close to someone who can help?? Usually these motors are easy to fix. Lots of time there is water in the gas? If the price is right it should be an easy fix?

I just bought the exact same boat. My motor isn't running though. All i'm getting is clicking from the starter. I hope i can figure out my issue soon. Running out of nice weather to use the thing.

Clicking from the starter or solenoid? Test light across the big lugs on the solenoid. Voltage through the solenoid? Then take the starter apart.

The clicking is coming from the solenoid. The test light read correct. Talked to a mechanic that works with me and he said to try and "hot wire" the starter and I still got nothing when i did that. I think the repairs are beyond my ability. Time to take the boat to a professional

Come on!!! You can fix it. Does it have power through both big lugs when you turn the key? If so take the starter apart and clean/change the brushes. It's real easy to change the solenoid too.
