My first boat was an 18 ft Bayliner Capri with a 90 horse force outboard I bought the Boat for $3000 ,spent $3,500 to fix the motor that didn't run and then sold it for less than I paid for it. Piece of **** boat and motor

Not all are bad.
I paid 1200 for a 1988 21ft.with twin 88/85 hp.
Fixed a starter and changed a lower unit(had a spare) then used it for 10 years until the salt water destroyed the transom clamps.
Changed to a Mercury 225 and sold the parts from the Force for almost 2K and ended up paying about 300$ for 9years of use. Then sold the 225 and told them they had to take the hull.
