Flywhell sticking

Hi

The flywheel on my marin

Hi

The flywheel on my mariner 28hp pull start turns just over half way then becomes stuck and will not turn anymore.
Any advice on what may be causing it nand how i can solve this issue?

you say remove the lower unit what is this and how can it be removed?

also how can i tear down the engine there is a bearing in the middle of the flywheel that will not come out?

"aaron, you need a manual, we can help but you need to be able to identify parts and understand how they work. but for now, the lower unit is bolted to the mid section. Inside the midsection is the drive shaft coming from the power head. If there is a problem in the lower unit it could stop the engine from rotating since the drive shaft is coupled to the lower unit and engine at all times. Although its possible, I doubt this is the problem. Chances are your motor has thrown a rod or broke a piston, making that motor to expensive for a novice to fix, at least without a manual.
