Flywheel won’t come off

I have a 28spl that stopped when hitting bottom at idle and would not start.
On inspecting plate under the flywheel has caught and rotated 90 degrees clockwise and tore up the throttle linkage. I suspect the key on the flywheel sheared. I have sheared 2 grade 8 1/4 20 bolts trying to pull the flywheel.
Can I use heat? Am I on the right track?
This motor has been running great for years I only run it on my duck boat.
Thanks

There should be no need to use heat.-----Use the proper puller and tighten the bolts.----Tighten the pusher bolt.-----Hit the pusher bolt with a hefty hammer.-----Has worked for me for hundreds of times.

Funny, I had a 28spl years ago with a stuck flywheel, I too have pulled many flywheels but this one was really stuck. What I did was tighten the puller bolt tight. Each day, I gave it a 1/8-1/4 turn tighter. It took 4 days to pop. I've also had good luck with an impact gun set on low setting, the hammering/vibration seems to get them to cooperate.

Got new bolts and used a bigger hammer
Popped right off THANKS!!
The flywheel hit the stator coil and spun the plate 90 degrees. Every thing was tight so how can that happen? Need to figure that out before throwing parts in it!!

The key is still in tact.
Thanks again Racer!!

I’m in Erie Pa
Also need the rod and nylon connectors that go from the stator plate to the carb . I have not been able to find them on any parts diagrams.
Thanks Again
