Good Morning
I was invited into sharing an ownership in a '33 Richardson Cruise-about with a BB70R motor. Unfortunately the bilge system failed swamping the boat with the engine taking in water.
We flushed the engine of water, purged the contaminated oil from the engine and reduction drive and fired her up. While we were turning the engine without load we noticed that a mousse-like mix of water and oil was steadily coming from the breather hole (I suppose that's what it is) at the top of the flywheel housing.
My question is why is that still happening and does the flywheel get lubricated with engine oil somehow and why would it be pushing so much stuff out of the vent hole? Fluid levels are good and the engine is holding good oil pressure but we don't want to damage the engine if this indicates a larger (or minor) problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
