"OK. Every time you use your boat you should flush out the engines with fresh water. I recently bought a 27 footer. The lower units are 100 feet behind the transom and 200 feet down. (OK, so I'm exaggerating a little) When kept in the water, there is no way to reach them. When on a lift, there is no way to reach them. What does everyone else do? Does someone make a flush-out attachment on a pole? How do you service your props and do other maintenance for that matter? I am tempted to try and build a small section of floating dock, but the homeowner's association would jail me. What does everyone else do?"

"Well, after much inquiry I found the answer quite by accident. Apparently some of the boat lift companies make a platform that mounts to the rear of your boat lift. This gives you a work surface for routine maintenance. I'm checking into one now."
