"Hello all, we have a great weekend here, and I have gottten the fever. Pulled the boat out of storage, and all runs well. 1987 Mercruiser 5.0 Alpha one drive.
I have one question. While the boat is running, sometime the tach guage, water temp and fuel guage wanders around. Could this be caused by a phantom ground wire somewhere? Where do I need to look? Within a few seconds, or by shutting the engine down and restarting everything is fine.
When the key switch is on and the engine is not running, all the guages operate correctly.
