Flooding-Rich issue

I have an unusual issue with my '90 Johnson 88spl. The boat runs good off the trailer cold but after I stop to fish a while the engine loads up and you have to open the fast idle wide open to restart. I pulled the carbs and they looked clean as if they were new. What about the primer solenoid, is there anyway it can allow fuel to flow through with the key off? It does work because I have to use it to start cold. I think I have checked everything else. Please help, 12 year old grandson wants to fish next week!!!!!!!!!!!!

The primer solenoid can leak.-----Which way is the red lever pointing on the primer ?----------Have you checked the fuel pump diaphragm ? It can leak fuel straight into the engine as well.

red lever is correct, running parallel with the body of the solenoid. Rebuilt fuel pump 30 days ago, ran great 1st time out, ran 1/2 tank (7gal) fuel through it no problems. Went ahead and checked fuel pump anyway. Removed it from engine, bolted it back together with nuts on mounting screws, pumped primer bulb. no leaks through pulse opening.

it fouled a new plug on cyl. #4. Have had the boat out 3 times, ran great first time, bad the next two. The only thing that changed between outings 1 & 2 was new plugs. Compression 115-118 on all 4.
