Flooding Quadraject Carburetor

1988 Mercruiser 4.3 LX 205 with 4 bbl carb. Starts and runs fine, but once it is warmed up, the RPMs start to slowly drop until it finally stalls. I can see gasoline pouring down into the venturis and onto the butterfly valves. Bad float and/or needle valve? Cracked housing? Or maybe the fuel pump?

Without some history the only thing to suggest is a good rebuild. Fresh needle and seat.

Not likely the float. The days of floats failing are very rare.

Its usually the needle and seat which the float interacts with.

I'd bet on the fuel pump diaphragm being damaged and the gasoline getting dumped into the primary bore (as designed) via the TYGON sight tube...

Thanks everyone for your help. I'll start by testing the fuel pump before I start taking apart the carb.
definitely check out what mako suggested as the mechanical fuel pumps have the diaphragm rupture tube going up to the carb and will dump fuel down the bores.
