"i want to install a float switch due to completely enclosing my motor and can't see if water is present, So my question is how hard is it to install and what are some pointers or suggestions ya'll have on choosing and installing one without motor removal. I need things like how to attach it other than screwing it into the floor

and things of that nature......"

"I installed a cartridge type bilge pump in the lowest spot of the hull in front of the engine. I epoxied the base to the hull--no screws needed and it is at the lowest point. If you have a vented ski locker you can see if water gets in the bilge. But if your boat will be left in the water at a dock, use a float switch and connect it to your current pump or buy a self contained pump and float switch--500 GPM will keep it afloat."

"Here is a decent one from a sponsor at a good price. You can screw it down or epoxy the bracket using a single use twin tube of quick set epoxy. Sand the area to attach the bracket and clean w/lacquer thinner. Switch must be put at the same level as the pump base. Connect the wiring of the switch in parallel to the bilge dash switch wire in case the float switch would fail so you can operate it manually. Use a separate unswitched 12 VDC source with an in-line 10 amp fuse and just tap it into the existing 12 VDC wire going to the switch.
