flame arrestor installation?

the flame arrestor on the pulse hose on the VRO. one side is colored and one side is not. which way does it go?
 
ok so i swapped out my vro for 2 regular fuel pumps. now i have 2 pulse lines going to the crank case. do both lines need flame arrestors?
 
The old style double pump V-6 motors never had a pulse limiter installed,-----------probably because it was not needed.
 
racer...when you say pre 84 pumps. what do they look like? i just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing

thats it...thanks. one more problem. the screws that mount the pump to the block also holds the pump together. one of the scre holes on the block is damaged due to a broken screw prior to this and i cannot get the broken screw out... can i just put a nut on back of the pump and use the screw and nut to hold the pump together tight?
 
The pump could hang in mid air .--Just make sure there are nuts on the screws and ty-wrap it in place somewhere close to the pulse port.
