Flame arresters

What is the best way for cleaning a flame arrester? I have used air to blow it out but it does not do a great job.

Ayuh,....... Loosen the oil film with a solvent 1st, then blow it out with air,.....

2X....i have found Brakleen works very well...and the WW version works fine...
