I recently replaced my voltag

I recently replaced my voltage regulator/rectifier on my 1986 Johnson 225. Previous problem included tach not registering as well as voltage gauge reading below 12 volts. After replacing the regulator/rectifier I started up the engine and the tach. worked fine as well as the volt gauge registering 13.5 volts like it should. I turned the key from run to off position but the engine did not immediately shut down like it should. Instead it apparently shut down 3 of the 6 cyl. on the left 3 cyl. bank (standing behind the engine). I know this because I pulled the right bank plugs off to shut the engine down Help. David B

"David..... The kill circuit to the powerpacks is the "black/yellow" wire as follows.

Black wire at "M" terminal of ignition switch to ground.

Black/Yellow wire from other "M" terminal of ignition switch to female RED main electrical plug.

Dual "Black/Yellow" wires from male RED main electrical plug to powerpacks.

Black wire from powerpacks to ground.

Bottom line.... either one of those wires is broken or disconnected between the male RED plug and the powerpack or between the pack and ground, or one pack has failed.
