fisherman year with serial number

hello i have a evinrude fisherman 6 hp and i want to know the year, i have the serial number 6402c c 74073, i broke the gear at the end of the shaft and i want to know if i need a new one or it can be fix.... thank you

thank for the year .......the gear is broke at the bottom of the shaft (that's the one who make two other one in the feet turn the propeller) in fact i hit a rock with the motor thank you

Take it apart --------------Inspect driveshaft bearing surface above the pinion ( broken gear ) and the bronze bearing in the gearcase.------------------------Pictures will always help.---------------------------Parts #'s and prices available here and --------------shop.evinrude.com.

thats the part i have broke do you think i'm gonna need a new shaft....

Yes you need a new shaft.---------------From the old shaft it looks like bearing surface in housing is OK.

i'm looking on the evinrude site and i'm not sure... i think it was 300$ just for the shaft or i need other parts

Correct $ 300.00 for the shaft.----------------------If you have access to machinery / shop then there are options to repair the bottom of yours.-----------------Myself I would never spend that kind of money for a 6 HP shaft , I have boxes full of parts to make a " no money fix " for that.

No I don't-------------The ones I have are damaged in the pinion bearing area.-----Awaiting repair ( sleeving ) to 0.550 " which was the size for earlier models.
