"I have just finished rebuildi

"I have just finished rebuilding my 1994 johnson 140. I went through the link and sync and did everything up to the point of timing adjustments. All the linkages are set, idle air needles at two turn out, are there any starting points for the timing adjustments that I should go through before trying to break the motor in. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and I have done away with the VRO and have premixed the gas at 25:1 for the break in. Any tips on break in would also be appreciated. I used wiseco pistons and rings. Thanks."

"You can use a timing light to

"You can use a timing light to check your timing by winding the engine over at home...the max timing should be 4 degs less than what is stated for your model. The timing will be correct when the engine is running on the water.

I use a spark gaper with the plugs out disconect the red harness plug, apply full throttle and use a jumper switch to activate the starter solenoid"
