So my last forum died off, this is for my 97 evinrude 115. E115eleua , I know I've got an air leak in my fuel system. Replaced tank pickup tube, fuel lines and primer bulb. Replaced the fuel bracket, replaced the vst housing. Float is parallel, replaced 2 o rings on vapor seperator elbow behind fuel bracket, the o rings that go to the hoses from the vst cover to the fuel manifolds. We know I have an air leak between the vro and the fuel manifolds because of our very busy techs fuel pressure gauge. He had it hooked up the main line from the gas tank to the motor and the fuel pump help pressure and was pulling good fuel, when we hooked it up the fuel manifold the pressure was not held, its supposed to be around 5-7, and it was at 0. Wed prime the bulb and the pressure picked up to 5, but it dropped down to 2nbefore we shut the engine off. We had let the motor idle for a couple minutes before the pressure dropped, and the fuel pump started ticking quite fast. (About every second) I haven't checked the vapor pump itself, it's the original, most everything else original has failed on this engine and has been replaced, am I wrong to think this component or the diaphragm could be failing or has failed? My problem has gotten much worse. Before the motor would bog down after 10 seconds of full throttle, now it's at the point to where as soon as I get on plane within 10 seconds it bogs down and the fuel pump spring starts working way too fast. Can I replace any fuel hose on the motor side and put in a clear vinyl hose and run the motor for a few minutes? And where ever the air bubbles are showing up will tell me where to dig next?
