Filling fresh water system

Yes, don’t have a manual. So can I just turn the engine over and fill the lines and keep checking level until stays full?
I should have explained things a little better. It is a Volvo Penta AQ125A engine. So I’m referring to the heat exchanger tank. Put about a quart of antifreeze and level stayed the same. Just never had an inboard engine.

the heat exchanger will keep the motor at the correct PROVIDING you have ample raw water from the impeller to cool it

you can get the manual from VP's www site...

you have the right idea...just don't let the engine run until there is enought coolant in the system to keep the water pump wet...

7 quart capacity...

Correct mixture is 50/50 unless you use "premixed".... With engine off, remove fill cap and slowly pour in until full. Start engine and let it run @ idle MAKING sure there is a flow of fresh water from a hose to muffs. Bee sure to plug temp plug the small hole in the bottom of the skeg . Run engine @ idle until it fully warms up. When the tstat opens, the antifreeze level will drop slightly, refill with 50/50 to top. Let run a few more mins keepig it topped off. REplace cap.
