Extra Ports On EdelBrock 1409?

Hey Guys
After installing the 1409 on the 1973 318. We see that there is a extra hose port. From what I have read it is for the fuel pump overflow. My old carb had nothing of that sort and my fuel pump hasn't got an extra port either. What are my options for the extra port? Thanks in advance.
 
If it is the barb up at the base of the air horn, over where the choke coil is, you ID'ed correctly.

Best option is to get a newer fuel pump with that safety feature. The other option is to cap it off.
 
Correct. The mechanical fuel pump should have a third connection, so gas from a ruptured diaphragm goes into the motor instead of the bilge.
