Did anyone here knows how to remove the exhaust cover from a evinrude 1986 without taking the power head off? Thanks anyone!!

"What I was thinking?! Duh! My engine is a 40 hp evinrude and it have a big support in the middle of the exhaust cover. Inside the support are two mounts attached to the cover and to the support, one each side. It is unable for me to get off those mounts to slide off the cover. Picture of another same evin40 here to have a reference. Thanks!!
