"Have removed a damaged Exhaust Bellow/Boot. Damage due to a incorrectly placed worm drive clamp, to close to the ribed part of the boot. I think it just cut into it. Have a new one to install. I have read on the discussiom board to use a marine bellow sealant and to watch out for damage on the Alumn, if the incorrect sealant is used. I have spare boots and have put Armor All on the drive and water intake but presently have the exhaust boot in Chalk. I wonder if the heat could react with Armor All if it was used on the exhaust boot? The damaged exhaust boot has 2 inch break where the rib meets the flat mounting rubber on the transom end. Is there a product to repair this, or just throw it in the bin? New $200.00 app. plus delivery. I do realise how important this boot and the exhaust flapper is to stop water entering the motor via the 90 degree elbow and the riser."
